    Hi Jane,

You might try asking in the aerobics conference (ELESYS::AEROBICS)
or in UFP::FLEX (weight lifting and exercises). There's a group
(whose name I can't remember right now...it goes by initials) that
offers classes - I know they were giving classes at local gyms a while
back for people who wanted to be certified to teach aerobics. Another
alternative might be to call a local gym and ask someone there.

    Good luck!

I have heard of IDEA because the instructors at Cedardale (the top
fitness club in the North Shore area) are involved with it. Call
Cedardale for information. It's located in Haverhill.

Call the Fitness Resource Associates in Newton, Mass. (617-964-4356).
They offer an excellent aerobics instructor course (8 weeks) at
the Waverly Oaks Athletic Club in Waltham. They specifically train
you for the AFFA certification test. The teacher (Paula Benson)
is a real professional and a delight to listen to and learn with.
The next AFFA test is December 17 in Brookline. FRA courses run
regularly every 12 weeks or so.

    Good Luck
