1319.0. "looking for therapist" by HANNAH::OSMAN (see HANNAH::IGLOO$:[OSMAN]ERIC.VT240) Fri Nov 13 1992 19:56

This note I also put in another personal improvement conference:

Recently, I left the therapist I was seeing.

At first, I didn't know if I should leave my therapist. Part of me thought
if I need a therapist at all maybe I'm not qualified to know that this one
isn't good for me.

But my sister had another take on it. She said:

"I don't know anything about how to cut hair. But I sure know if
I've got a good person doing my hair !"

So, I've chosen to move on. But to whom ?

That's where perhaps you can help. If you're seeing a good therapist in the
Westford-Concord-Acton-Waltham area that you're willing to share, please send
me mail. I'm thinking perhaps I'd like to try a woman therapist this time.
And I think that I would like someone sort of spiritual. Someone oriented
towards any of the following would be good too:

o	inner child work

o	12-step recovery (I'm in SLAA)

o	meditation, yoga

Thanks for any input.

    /Eric,

I can't make any suggestions for you. But I'm GLAD to see you came to
realize that the BEST therapist for you is one you feel comfortable
with. Too often people will go to a therapist, not like his/her
methods and decide that therapy is not good for the situation or that
there's no help available out there for their situation.

For what it's worth, you've my admiration.
