1149.0. "NEED ROLE MODEL FOR BOYS" by ODIXIE::MENDES () Fri Mar 22 1991 16:05

** This is the first time I have entered a message **

I have a very close friend (single parent) who live in the Hartford, necticut
Connecticut area . Needs counseling for two boys (13 and 10 yrs
    old).
Needs positive male role model to talk to these boys before they
       get kicked out of school.
       Please reply A.S.A.P.
       Thanks a million - Rita Mendes @ato DTN - 326-5421

Go to your local Big Brother/Big Sister Association. There are people
who would devote their time to a child that needs a role model. These
volunteers will take the child out and do things with them like take
them to the park, the baseball game etc. I know somone who was a big
brother and he was a positive influence on a child who needed someone
    to look up too.

    good luck.

I suggest the Boy's Club. I have a friend whose fiance works for them.
They are very good with kids and keeping them busy and providing a good
    role model.

Another good place to try is the Boy/Cub scouts. Especially when the
problem is explained to the Troop leader.
