1107.0. "Down's Syndrome" by OTOO01::SOOLEY (KEN) Mon Nov 19 1990 14:02

    I'm looking for a source of information that can provide an insight on
    Down's Syndrome. Specifically information on support groups that are
    available, or information on personal experiences.

    If I could be directed to another notes file, or conference, it would
    be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    KS

    MRDATA::PARENTING has topics from the perspective of parents of
    children with Down's Syndrome. You may also find some information
    in the HYDRA::MEDICAL conference.

    Feel free to use this conference to relate personal experiences
    regarding people with Down's.

1107.2Life Goes OnAKOCOA::LAMOTTEJ & J's MemereMon Nov 19 1990 15:219
    The series "Life Goes On" does a lot to help us understand Down's
    syndrome. Corky is played by a young man with the condition.
    Last night they did a program on Thanksgiving and I really felt
    I understood Corky's thinking process.

    I think this series creates an awareness that some of us might miss
    if we do not know a person with the handicap.

    I think "Life Goes On" is a wonderful show, it is about time that they
    put a show like that on the air. It makes a lot of folks understand
    that people who are affected with Downs Syndrome are people too with
    feelings just like us.
