974.0. "Bradshaw: Healing - who taped it?" by AIMHI::TINIUS (I didnt lose it, I just cant find it) Tue Mar 13 1990 11:55

Did anyone manage to tape the Bradshaw show "Healing the Shame that Binds You"
on WGBH last night? I would *really* like to borrow the tape, if possible.

Thanks,
Stephen

    Hi, Stephen,

I didn't tape it, but here's where you can contact John's organization
for info on buying tapes (audio or video):
    		Bradshaw
    		959 S.Downing
    		Boulder, CO 80209
    		800-332-3394

Also, he has two books out that you might be interested in: "Bradshaw
on the Family" and "Bradshaw on Healing the Shame that Binds You."
I bought both, tried to read "Shame" first and went back to "On the
Family"- it is, for me, the work that needed to be done first.

Also, you might be interested in the ACOA notesfile; if you get into
VTX Easynotes and pick the valuing differences list, there are
instructions in there on what to do.

Good luck, and feel free to write anytime.

    Lynn

Thank you. I missed part of it and thought it was terrific.

Last year, I spent some time at WGBH taking pledges during a pledge
drive, and they had made a late decision to show the Bradshaw shows
instead of a John Wayne movie. I received a number of angry phone
calls, but what was more astounding was the number of LARGE pledges
that came in from people who were thankful to see the shows, and it
was clear that the average donation was much higher than it would
have been if they had shown the movie. While Bradshaw's style
reminds me too much of an evangelist, his message seems to be needed
    by many people out there.

Those of you who watch the show on your public television station may
want to send them a donation so that they may continue to bring you
    programs like this.

I renewed my membership during that show which aired last week,
and got a copy of the "On the Family" book as a gift. I didn't
catch the entire show, but what I saw looked good with some ideas
that many of us could use and share with family and friends.

Does anyone know, can you rent the tapes "Bradshaw on the Family"?
    I missed that series, too.

WGBH also offered audio tapes of the series as a premium.
