| Earth Day 1990, a worldwide, non-centralized celebration, will be
held on April 22, which is the 20th anniversay of the first Earth
Day. Earth Day is intended to mark the beginning of a long-term
commitment to building a safe and sustainable planet. Governments,
environmental groups, broadcast and print media, community groups
and corporations will be planning activities that will encourage
individual participation and commitment to improving and protecting
our environment. Digital will use the occasion of Earth Day to
reaffirm its commitment to excellence in the area of environment,
health and safety. In conjunction with Earth Day, "Earth Vision"
posters detailing the seven tenets of environmental, health and
safety excellence will be sent to each U.S. site. In addition,
each U.S. employee will receive, at home, a brochure containing
the full worldwide EH&S policy. Managers are asked to encourage
and support their employees' participation in various site Earth
Day activities.
Hope this information is what you were looking for.

| Other events are happening around the world on Earth Day. This spring,
on the 20th anniversary of Earth Day, climbers form the United States,
China, and the Soviet Union have converged on Mount Everest. The goal
of the "Peace Climb" is to place a team consisting of one climber from
each participating nation on the summit of the world.
Led by Jim Whittaker, the Earth Day 20 International Peace Climb
emphasizes a commitment to world peace and environmental preservation.
The climb will affirm that unity, teamwork and cooperation among
nations are the keys to building a safer Earth for future generations.
In the spirit of "leaving only footprints" behind, the climbers will
spend two weeks after the summit attempt removing gear and debris left
by previous expeditions.
