254.0. "Just A Thought for the Day" by SSVAX::LAVOIE () Wed Mar 25 1987 10:46

    I saw this poem at 6:30 this morning and I just want to share it
    with you. It's by anonymous, you know that wonderful person who
    writes all these neat things. Wouldn't you love to meet anonymous
    and thank them or just shake their hand?

    TIME

    Take time to work-
         It is the price of success.
    Take time to think-
         It is the source of power.
    Take time to play-
         It is the secret of perpetual youth.
    Take time to read-
         It is the fountain of wisdom.
    Take time to be friendly-
         It is the road to happiness.
    Take time to love and be loved-
         It is nourishment for the soul.
    Take time to share-
         It is too short a life to be selfish.
    Take time to laugh-
         It is the music of the heart.
    Take time to dream-
         It is Hitching your wagon to a star.

    Sunshine
    P.S. Have a great day everybody!

The following is a poem I found few years ago in a book by Elisabeth
Kubler-Ross. I hope you will find it just as enlightening as the previous
one.

Prayer for Healers

	Lord,
		Make me an instrument of your health:
	where there is sickness,
		let me bring cure;
	where there is injury,
		aid;
	where there is suffering,
		ease;
	where there is sadness,
		comfort;
	where there is despair,
		hope;
	where there is death,
		acceptance and peace.

	Grant that I may not:
	so much seek to be justified,
		as to console;
	to be obeyed,
		as to understand;
	to be honored,
		as to love. . . . .
	for it is in giving ourselves
		that we heal,
	it is in listening
		that we comfort,
	and in dying
		that we are born to eternal life.

    That is the St. Francis of Assissi prayer. It's been around for
    centuries. It's one I *try* to live by, but....whew, it's tough!
