1107.5I can not get it to workSPOOKS::WINCEWed May 07 1997 22:0822
    I have a new vax 7000 model 840 that I am trying to install Open VMS
    V5.5-2 on.
    I have upgraded all the cpu's to console version 4.2-4835 and set
    compat_mode to v55.
    When I boot the Open VMS versions 5.5-2h4 cd I get the vms banner and
    then it gives me a bugcheck code of 000000374
    			pc - 9e99691e
    			sp - 9ffbd558
    		    ext ps - 9e9968a1
    		       psl - 041f8609
    and the system halts.
    If I build Standalone backup from a vms system running VMS 5.5-2 it
    does the same thing.
    If I boot off of the Open VMS 6.2 cd it works fine?
    Have I missed a step somewhere?

    ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

1107.6Too much memory?CSC32::B_HIBBERTWhen in doubt, PANICThu May 08 1997 15:305
    The bugcheck code of 374 is a PTELENVIOL bugcheck. How much memory is
    installed in this system? VMS 5.5-2 only supports 512 MB.

    Thanks for the quick reply.......

    The system has two 128mb memory modules, two cixcd's a demna and a cmd
    controller on the bi...
1107.8now it bootsSPOOKS::WINCEThu May 08 1997 19:538
    On my previous entry I stated the system had two 128mb memory, I meant
    it had two 256mb modules.

    In any event I got the system to boot v5.5-2h4 by removing the bi.
    I gues that is why the release notes say the bi is not supported.

    Thanks for all of your help and I hope this helps someone in the
    future.
