455.0. "1993-94 MHS basketball topic" by CLAUDI::MORGAN () Wed Dec 22 1993 12:41

    Well the boys and girls teams all won yesterday against Assabet
    Vocational. Don't know the scores of all four, but the boys teams put
    on a push at the end to win pretty easily.

    Next up, Nashoba on Thursday.

Yesterday, Maynard High played St. Mary's High of Worcester in Division
III of the Central Mass. High School Tournament at Worcester Polytechnic
Institute.

St. Mary's High of Worcester won 71-70 in the last second of play.

This was a very aggressive game, and the lead changed many times. Neither
team dominated, and both showed some excellent and exciting play.

The score was tied with 60 seconds to go in the game, and again at 30
seconds. Maynard was ahead with a couple of seconds to go, when St.
Mary's sunk the final basket. It was truly a heartbreaking finish, but
the team played very well and really did themselves and the town proud.

455.5Jarreau DeLeon named to All-Scholastic TeamSTAFF::PCLX31::satowgavel::satow, dtn 223-2584Thu Apr 07 1994 13:047
Maynard basketball fans may want to pick up a copy of today's Boston Globe.
Jarreau DeLeon was named to the Globe's first team All-Scholastic boys'
basketball team. This is a significant accomplishment, since the
All-Scholastic team tends to be dominated by players from high profile
Division I Eastern Massachusetts schools.
