416.0. "Info please..." by CTHQ::SNOW () Wed Mar 03 1993 13:16

We have an old electric dryer that we need to dispose of. Does anyone
know if we can bring it ourselves to the Town Barn on Winter Street
as we have a vehicle we can put it in to get it there. If this is
possible, does anyone know what days/hours they accept such things.

Please either reply to this note or send me mail on CTHQ::SNOW.

It's sitting on our front porch, and I'm sure the person delivering
our mail will be glad when it is gone :)

    Thanks,

    Lin Snow

    Linda,

I am heard on the radio several times that Mass Electric has a program
that will pick them up. It's part of some recycling effort. Try
    giving them a call.

    Hope it helps...dianne

    Hi,

I'm answering my own note. Just spoke to someone at the Town Barn on
Winter Street. He said they have a location there that we can drop off
the dryer or any metal appliance. He said it's at the end of the barn
and is marked. He also said any day at any time is OK to drop such
things off. Thought I would enter this for others to see.

To have it picked up at our house would require a sticker that has to
be purchased from the Health Department. I believe they cost around
    $25.00.

    Cheers,

So much for metal appliances. Is there an equivalent route for
excess furniture? Upholstered? Wood? Metal?
