| As an Algonquin Council East District Advancement Rep, it gives
me great pleasure to announce that Randy Ward of Maynard Boy Scout
Troop 130 has attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Randy has been in
the troop for six years and has worked hard to attain the highest
rank a Boy Scout can achieve.
Some of you with small children may know Randy. He has worked for
the past few years at the SACC Program, which is the afterschool
program held at the Green Meadow School. His love for children
seems endless.
Randy was named to Boys' State last year. He is a Senior at Maynard
High this year. He plays soccer and is on the High School Track Team.
He is also, active in his church. His dedication is apparent in the
way he finds time to fit everything in his busy schedule and achieve
great accomplishments.
Back in May, Randy offered fingerprinting of children ages 5, 6 and 7
as his Eagle Service Project. He and six other scouts were given
fingerprinting classes by Maynard Police Officer Phil Craven. As a
result, the seven scouts earned the Fingerprinting Merit Badge. In
talking with Randy, he greatly appreciated the help he received from
the Maynard Police Department in making his Project a success.
My personal congratulations go out to Randy and his mother, Sue,
who has every right to be very proud of her son.
