279.0. "MAYNARD needs a new home" by TOOK::DITMARS (Pete) Wed Apr 03 1991 10:23

Hi All,

The group that has graciously hosted the MAYNARD conference since its beginning
will soon no longer be able to provide the computer resources necessary to
continue to host the conference. I want to say "thanks" to ISS, the group that
has hosted MAYNARD, and Jean Fullerton in particular.

The conference is currently 4400 blocks, and doesn't grow very fast, so the
disk resources consumed aren't huge. It's not a serious network or CPU resource
hog either, judging from the volume of notes entered.

If anyone out there (preferably in the Maynard area) has the inclination (and
resources) to adopt the conference, please speak up, either here or by sending
me mail.

Anyone seeking to adopt the conference can also adopt the moderator's hat, if
they want, or I can continue to remotely co-moderate, as I've done for the
past year or so.

If nobody in the Maynard area volunteers to adopt the conference in the next
week or so, I'll be moving it to LKG, where I currently work. Any offers after
that point to move the conference back to Maynard will still be accepted.

regards,

Pete

The MAYNARD conference will be unavailable for some period of time this weekend,
20-apr .. 21-apr, while it moves to its new home on node MCC1.

A pointer conference will be left behind for a while that will contain
instructions on how to update your notebook entry to find the new MAYNARD
conference.

The move to MCC1 is complete.

The conference is still up for adoption to anyone who feels a
conference about Maynard shouldn't live on a computer in Littleton.
