We just had work done on our Nissan Sentra at Phil's, and were very happy.
We had been having it tuned up at Christmas Motor's, and were much
happier with the work at Phil's.  I've had Jarmo's do work on my
Toyota Van, but the estimate they gave me for having my muffler
done did not include labor, so I was quite suprised when it was $50 or
so more than the telephone estimate.  I would go back to Phil's again
before going to either of the other two, and that's my 2 cents!

    I just had my first experience with Phil's.  He is a joy to talk
    to and is VERY honest and upfront.  His prices are 1/2 that of
    Nissan of Marlboro, and his work is excellent.  I needed a muffler
    and a sticker and when I told him this, he took my Maxima to an
    inspection station and got it inspected for me.  AND he called me
    at 10:30 and told me it was all set.  He does everything with an
    up-front estimate and does NOTHING else without permission.
    
    He only works on Datsun/Nissan vehicles, and loves his work and is
    proud of his small operation.  
    
    In short, he treats you like he would like to be treated, and appears
    to be a man who is trying to establish a long-term business relation-
    ship with his customers, much like we try to do in Digital.  As a 
    Customer Services Manager, I appreciate and relate to his philosophy.
    
    I RECOMMEND HIM.

Where exactly is Crescent Street in Stow?

    Crescent St runs into Rt 117 in two places: about a quarter of a mile
    west of the shopping plaza, and at the Town Hall/Library/traffic light
    area. 

I know that Bob Collins at Stow Service Center fixes at least one Mazda
satisfactorily. He doesn't do dealer-only work, though.

    There's a shop in Acton that specializes in foreign cars, but I can't
    recall the name (they advertise in the "Action Unlimited", the free
    magazine that gets mailed to all homes in the greater Maynard area).
    Does anyone recall the name, and more importantly, has anyone had or
    heard of any experiences good or bad with this garage.

    Import Auto Service of Marlboro specializes in Japanese cars. I've been 
    taking my Subaru and my wife's Toyota there for the past two years. 
    The staff is knowledgeable (I know they attend manufacturer-sponsored 
    training), service is customer oriented, and the prices are fair.
    
    The shop is next to the Marlboro airport on Farm Road.  Telephone is
    508 485-8822.  There are many positive notes about this shop in the
    LYCEUM::CONSUMER conference. The shop is 15 minutes from Maynard via 
    backroads.

Hi,

I have a similar case as .6  The closest Honda dealers are either in Tewksbury
or Natick.... Do you know of a good shop specialized in Hondas near
Maynard/Acton?
