87.0. "Amory's" by SKETCH::BASSETT (Design) Mon Mar 14 1988 15:24

    Does anyone know when the new resturant/pub called "Amory's" will
    be opening. It's right across from the mill...the old "PJ's".

    A friend of mine went to a pre-opening "open house" for some
    businesses, etc. She told me that the buffalo wings were quite
    spicy, and that the chicken fingers were extremely habit forming.

    Having yet to eat there, I can't comment on quality first-hand,
    nor size of portions, but the menu items looked as if they were
    proced aggressively vis-a-vis other pubs.

    The first day the service was a little slow but I am sure they will
    pick up a bit. The waitress emptied my ash tray 4 times and I only
    has 2 cigs! Wow! The food is good and mixed drinks are huge.

    Last night my wife and I went there for a spur-of-the-moment supper.
    It's _much_ nicer in decor than the old P. J. Whitney's, with
    a brass-and-glass look.  For reasons I don't understand, there's
    a boms (as in "bombs away!" from aviation) on one far wall, but
    even that is painted a nice shade of off white.

    The food is quite good, and the portions are generous. It's priced
    competitively with other pubs/restaurants, and the quality is superior
    to many.

    The waitresses are very polite and helpful. Well worth going to.

87.7Brunch... what time?AKOV11::ATKINSThu Jul 07 1988 18:494
	What time is the brunch served? I'm always looking for a
	good brunch that's within walking distant from my home.

We've gone here 3 times now for spur of the moment dinners. The food
and service is consistently good.
