479.0. "Sophos 2.91 error with OSR2 and FAT32" by STOWOA::READ (Bob Read @OGO, DTN 276-9715) Thu Feb 06 1997 18:37

    Sophos Sweep 2.91, running on Windows 95b (OSR2), FAT32 disk, returns
    the following error:

    Error: Could not read Drive C: Sector 0

    I suspect that the error is due to the FAT32 disk structure. However,
    the Sophos folks should fix this before lots of people upgrade ...

Frisk (F-PROT) as well as Sophos (Sweep) have been requested to
support FAT32 and are currently working on it.

BTW: has FAT32 been released officially by MicroSoft ?
if no, when is this expected ?

    FAT32 is officially part of the OSR2 release. If you have bought a new
    PC from a vendor that is shipping OSR2 (That's really Windows 95b) then
    you'll have it. You can also run it if you subscribe to MSDN; it was
    shipped as part of the subscription. However, there is no upgrade
    path. It's FDISK and reinstall from scratch. It's also very limited
    in the hardware platforms that it supports. (Basically, the vendors
    have to qualify their systems if the systems are going to be shipped
    with Windows 95b.)
