2870.0. "DMQ3.2 Docs/HP-UX configuration" by WROS01::MADSEN () Mon May 12 1997 19:33

    Is the documentation contained at [DMQ320.DOCS] and subdirectories the
    full set of docs available for DMQ? DMQ2 had a document called "Guide
    to Application Integration." I can't find this anywhere for DMQ3.2.
    Does it still exist, and if so where can it be found? I also noted in
    an earlier note a reference to a "configuration guide." Is there a
    seprate document for configuration, or is that perhaps a reference to
    the configuration section of the installation guide?

    We are having difficulty configuring DMQ3.2 on HP-UX. Does anyone out
    there have experience with this? Any help would be appreciated, even
    if it's just a pointer to additional documentation.

    Thanks,
    Terry

    the DMQ V3.2 documents are a combination of the V3.2 documents
    that are in those directories and in the V3.0 directories. See
    the announcements for the V3.2 kits in note 4.*.

    The "Guide to Application Integration" is history. It was mer-
    ged into some of the other documents.

    What type of difficulties are you experiencing?>

    Are you running HP-UX v10 (correct?) with the logical links removed.

    From my experience, configuring DMQ on HP-UX is no different than on
    DIGITAL UNIX.

    Jeremy.

2870.3Minor problem still existsWROS01::MADSENTue May 13 1997 18:0011
    Thanks for the reply. Apparently the most major problem we were
    having got solved just about the time I sent my note, and I wasn't told
    until just now :) One problem which persists, but which they have been
    able to work around so haven't spent major effort to actually solve is:
    The bus init file is supposed to also init the group; sometimes it
    does, and sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't they have to kill the
    group and manually start it. Does this sound like anything you have
    run across?

    Thanks,
    Terry
2870.4Requesting full docs for DMQ, bound and neat!NWD002::FEIGLETue May 13 1997 21:3019
    Adding to the base note. This team would like to purchase "bound"
    copies of documentation for our current project. In our search for
    documentation, we only found QAOHJJaa-GZ which is for DMQ for VMS

    I would like discover the part numbers for complete documentation sets
    (and I understand that might mean getting 3.1 and the updates to 3.2)
    for the following .... so I need the Q numbers so I can order them.
    Can you assist?

    Need "Q" numbers for full doc sets for the followiing:
    DMQ For Digital Unix V3.2
    DMQ for HP-UX V3.2
    DMQ for Windows NT Intel V3.2
    DMQ for VMS  (QA-OHJAA-GZ)

    Urgent need.... darn if I can find it in the doc books or this
    notesfile.

2870.5Mail to the DMQ team didn't go throughNWD002::FEIGLEWed May 14 1997 13:3122
    I've tried to send mail to the DMQ team, and even tried to reply to
    the DMQ authors of base notes (for a non-public reply), and can't seem
    to get through. There is always the hotline.... but I was surprised at
    the following:

    Report 1
    Addressee:           _WESTMA::NAGINE
    Reason: Failed to transfer, owing to communications failure
    Diagnostic: Unrecognized recipient name, the name does notmatch any*
    Comment: Error performing ALL-IN-1 AMTS delivery for thisrecipie*
      Date Non-Delivered:  14-May-1997 06:29am

    Same message for:
    Report 2
      Addressee:           _CLASS7::SKELDING
      Addressee:           _XHOST::ZACHWIEJA
      Addressee:           _XHOST::SJZ

    Is it something I did.... tried to send from ALLIN1, and VAXmail for
    no-joy.

2870.6DMQ engineering now work for BEABEAVER::MCKEATINGWed May 14 1997 13:5047
As all the engineering team now work for BEA it is not surprising
that mail fails to get through or you cannot find people on ELF.

if you check the engineering team at :-

http://www.dmq.rch.dec.com/dmqeng/people.html
you will find most of them registered as BEA employees.

RE problem on HP-UX

did you check out note 2839.* already?

we were having problems with the ivp on hp-ux and running the dmqbcp
bottom line was. Don not use the bcp as it will not be there in dmq 4.

does not help much in tracking the problem down However we found using the
dmqgcp on it's own works.

re documentation etc I would suggest contacting the product manager :-

    We are still here. However, XHOST is in a hidden area and you can
    not send mail to XHOST directly. All of the MessageQ people can be
    reached by sending mail to PAMSRC::. We have the same usernames as
    we do on XHOST.

    Also, just as notes is not an official support channel, neither is
    sending directly to the developers. If you have a serious problem
    that needs to be addressed you can submit a QAR or an IPMT case as
    appropriate. This allows us to better assign resources and track
    problems as they come in.
