    S and A are obsolete.

    S was "on startup"
    A was "always"

    "S" was actually very useful as an intermediate step between N <--> Y
    and Y <--> Y. In the case of N <--> Y if the "N" group is restarted
    then you must wait for the "Y" group to reach its reconnect timeout
    before the xgroup link is re-established. S <--> Y is very useful for
    restart/reboot scenarios.

2841.3There is nothing special about the "S" setting...KLOVIA::MICHELSENBEA/DEC MessageQ EngineeringTue Apr 08 1997 13:1212

S == Y with a zero reconnect timer

	This causes the LDs to only automatically attempt once during startup.

A == Y with a non-zero reconnect timer

    You say S and A are obsolete.
    What will happen if a customer still uses this values, do that lead to
    unpredictable results ,...lost messages ?

    For instance a customer has got the following settings on the node
    CSAX03 :

    *Group name ID System Cnt Pool Timer Delay Size
    Trnsprt Addr
    *--------------- ----- ---------------- --- ---- ----- ----- ------------ -----
    SSI_PROD_CLIENT    2        CSAX03       S  75    -1    -1    -1  TCPIP   4091
    SSI_PROD           1        CSL4         A  75    -1    -1    -1  TCPIP   4090

    and

    *Group name ID System Cnt Pool Timer Delay Size
    Trnsprt Addr
    *--------------- ----- ---------------- --- ---- ----- ----- -----
    ------- -----
    SSI_PROD          1       CSL4          A    75    -1    -1    -1
    TCPIP   4090
    *SSI_PROD         1       CSL3          A    75    -1    -1    -1
    TCPIP   4092
    SSI_PROD_CLIENT   2      CSAX03         S    75    -1    -1    -1
    TCPIP   4091

    on Node CSL4

    What should we advise the customer ?

    Thanks

	  No lost msgs, in fact no problems until they try to go to
	V4.0 when these settings will no longer parse.

> What should we advise the customer ?

	  They don't need to change anything but I would plan on phasing
	in the documented equivalents when it is convient. This will
	pave the way for upgrading to V4.0.
