2748.0. "DMQ 3.2 and Windows NT 4.0" by BRSVMS::DEJONG () Wed Jan 29 1997 14:37
Hi,
Digital Brussels has developped a client-server application based on
DECMessageQ 3.2 for Windows NT 3.51 and VC++ 4.0.
Allthough we said not to support NT 4.0 yet, some clients couldn't wait
to upgrade their NT-server to V4.0.
Apparently some parts of the application ( application servers using
DMQ ) are not properly functioning, and do crash from the first or
second attempt to pams_put_msg (pams_locate_q, pams_attach_q seem to
work).
One thing I know so far ( I don't have had yet the opportunity to
debug ) is that our clients sometimes get a popup for the servers
written in C++ showing this bizar message:
Windows-NT error 87
Dr. Watson cannot attach to the process
[ in most cases they do not get anything, the server
processes simply disappear ]
Same things happen after installation of service pack 2.
Anyone who has experienced similar behaviour ?
Has DMQ3.2 has been tested on NT4.0 ?
Do we perhaps need another version of C++ ?
Many thanks in advance,
Guido
Btw: I installed the new version of the CLS 3.2-007, Windows 95 clients
can attach now.
