Conference pamsrc::decmessageq

  The MUP kits (shown below) contain ECOs 3201-3246.  The kits have an ID of 
"V3.2B-46".  The key changes are:

	o Important corrections to MRS
	o Important corrections to the COM Server
	o Important corrections to WF_xxx msg handling

Please refer to the release notes for a complete description of the problems 
corrected with this remastered kit.

  These MUP kits are available to external customers through the CSC's
standard patch distribution mechanisms and they will be on the next CD-ROM
releases.  The Alpha version is scheduled for Feburary 22nd FCS and VAX is 
scheduled for March 14th FCS.

    The BERYLIUM (V4.0) external field test kits for DECmessageQ  for
    UNIX are now available on the network.  The kits are for external
    use and can be given to customers provided  customers  understand
    that it is field test software and that it should not be used  in
    a production environment.  The kits can be found at :

    All of the kits listed above are in "tar" or "zip" format. DO NOT
    use VMS COPY to copy these kits across the  network  as  you  may
    have difficulty un{tarr,zipp}ing the files.  Use
       
    SPOOL or EXCHANGE/NETWORK/TRANS=BLOCK
       
    instead of COPY.  You can also use dcp from any Digital  UNIX  or
    ULTRIX machine running DECnet. If you use dcp don't forget to use
    the -i switch.

    Please take the time to read the release notes.  There are SIGNIF-
    ICANT changes of which you need to be aware.   Release notes  are

    Nearly all of the documentation for this release is  provided  in
    the form of online HTML files which can be viewed using  any  web
    browser.  A web browser is not included in the kit but one may be
    obtained elsewhere on the net.  Hardcopy installation guides,  in
    the form of postscript  files,  are  available in the  [BERYLIUM.-
    DOCS] directory.
                         
    If you have any problems copying the kit feel free to post a note
    in this file to insure the quickest response time.  If  you  find

  This kit adds several features that are now implemented with common
  code across OpenVMS, Unix, and NT platforms.

  + Selective Broadcast Services

  + Routing Avail / Unavail Services

  + Naming Agent Services

  + Self Describing Messaging

  In addition, internal infrastructure has been modified to support
  common startup / shutdown and queue management code that will be
  available in the next field test.

  Local support for large messages ( up to 4 MB ) has been added, with
  full support available in Field Test 2.

  
  Problems that are found with this kit can be reported with the QAR system
    on PAMSRC, or by sending mail to PAMSRC::SKELDING.

  This note is to announce that the next round of CDROMs, which contain
DECmessageQ for OpenVMS kits, will contain a kit called V3.2C.  This kit is a
replacement of DECmessageQ for OpenVMS, Version 3.2B. Version 3.2C provides a
patch to repair an installation problem for customers running OpenVMS Alpha
Version 1.5. This kit contains no new features or enhancements to DECmessageQ
for OpenVMS, Version 3.2B. Therefore, Version 3.2C does not need to be installed
by OpenVMS VAX customers or by customers running OpenVMS Alpha other than
Version 1.5.
