Hi
I'm working on a system where we use a Unix system running X.25 as a
gateway system to two others. I have set this system up as a Relay node
and all works ok. There is one relay in each direction. The incoming (from
PSDN) has an output that points to an LLC2 DTE class that has two DTE's that
over LLC2 to the target Unix systems.
I need a bit of help in adding some functionality to this config.
The relay as setup is ok but the customer wants to have additional control
over which relay destination they goto. This is to be done with a sub address
and thay also want the normal relay to operate if there is no sub address
match.
I assume that it is correct to use an X25 Access Filter in some way but I am
unsure where to put it and also how to specify the sub address range. The docs
say the the sub address parameter on X25 access filters is being 'retired'. How
can you specify this ?

PSDN--DNSES--LAPB--DTE---PSDN_Access_Class---X25 Access Filter--RELAY-{cotd}

Hi, Do you really need to filter on sub-addresses? There are a number of other fields which may better suit.... eg. X.25 Address, Call Data, etc. I'm not entirely sure I know what your asking for, but if you just want an overview of how to configure this, then here it is: On the Relay Client, (ie the LAN based node) If you do not have control over addressing, then you may need to setup a template which sets Call Data to a specified value. On the Relay Node: Associate the filter with the X.25 Relay and filter on incoming address. If not address, then setup the filter with the Call Data as indicated in the corresponding template. Matt, It seems that the customer wants to use the sub address to determine the final destination node. So they call the using the PSDN address plus a sub address eg psdn address 2342734998877 sub address 04 gives a destination address of 234273499887704. If I understand the filter params correctly, I would make this the matching address for the filter. Is this the correct way to do it or is there are better way. He does not want to play around with call user data. I have used this in POS applications successfully so I did suggeat this to them but they refused to consider it. Regards, Stephen Davies | |||||

Yes, filter on incoming address 234273499887704 in the filter used by
the relay client.
