495.0. "X.25 product with VMS V6.1-1H2 ?" by ANNECY::BONNIER (Jean-Luc ... CSS Annecy France) Fri Jan 31 1997 22:09

Hello from France

A customer is running OpenVMS V6.1-1H2, DECnet/OSI V6.3ECO5 and WANDD V1.0D
on a bi-processor AlphaServer 2100 4/233.

He wants to add a X.25 access to his system. Simply to have x29login-like
terminal emulation from a remote IBM system.

which version of the "X.25 for OpenVMS" product does he need to buy ?
Of course the application running on this system has not been qualified under
OpenVMS V7.0 ...

Thanks for your support.

The current version of X.25 and WANDD on VMS are:

	V1.0-G for OpenVMS V6.2
	V1.1-B for OpenVMS V7.0 and V7.1

The customer should use these versions rather than earlier
versions - many bug fixes have been included since V1.0-D.

Thanks for your reply Arthur.

But what about VMS V6.1 ? Is WANDD V1.0-G working with VMS V6.1 ?

Another point ...
So far the system is not configured to allow x29 incoming calls. What are the
different steps the customer needs to perform in order to add this x29
connectivity :
	- reinstall WANDD ?
	- install X25 for VMS ?
	- register X25 license ?

Thansk again.

Not supported, but I can think of no reason why it wouldn't work.
    (I know a number of reason why X.25 V1.0-x won't work on VMS V7.x).

Depends on what the customer has already done!

    	No.

    	Definitely (if not already done).
