    			Hi !
    > I don't know how you determined the odd pages are missing
    > from a BOOKREADER file! I had a quick look at section 2.7 and all the
    > individual sub points are numbered sequentially suggesting to me
    > that it was all present. I used the book in the 'DECnet-Plus X.25
    > V6.3 for OpenVMS Alpha' shelf.

Simple : I printed out the paper copy of the post-script manuals
    	         from ozrock::NAC_PUBLIC:[PRODUCT.X25_FOR_VMS.V10.DOC]

I Did have a look at "X.25 for OpenVMS AXP Systems " on CDrom
(not at DECnet-Plus X.25 V6.3 for OpenVMS Alpha).

In fact, just reading this manual through bookreader does'nt
show page numbers ; but , this manual is organized such a
way that for troubleshooting procedures , a step-by-step method
is described ; to each step corresponds a note : step1 see note1
step 2 see note 2 and so on .
It happens that the "Notes n" section is located on odd pages
which are missing . My customer's problem was that reading
the book through bookreader , he was unable to find the
notes referred to by those troubleshooting guidelines !
That's the reason why he called !

So, I'm afraid there's a real problem for that one (sep 96),
which eventually could be reported to future CD distributions.

I'll manage to determine how such problem should be officially
    	submitted - I'll post a reply here later .

    	Thanks, Michele.

The actual problem could well be with bookreader and not the documentation
itself. If encountered at least 1 issue with bookreader that on the surface,
appeared to be a documentation problem, but was in fact a bookreader bug.

I have discussed the missing pages with the former X.25 tech writer who
expressed the opinion:

"I suspect that the issue raised in Note 493 actually relates to an
obscure Bookreader bug: I am not certain about this, but there is
apparently a limitation on the number of <ONLINE_POPUP> tags that can be
included in a single document."

(The documentation sources are in DEC DOCUMENT.)

I think the best approach to get this rectified is probably to
lodge an IPMT against X.25 and describe the problem as an
inability to read the notes in the Problem Solving Guide,
Bookreader version.

If the X.25 docs are genuinely missing from the DEC-96 docs CD-ROM
I suggest you lodge another IPMT for that issue.
493.5CDROM X.25 Docs ResubmittedDELNI::BRUFFFri Jan 31 1997 07:389
We have just resubmitted the documentation for the OpenVMS Alpha CD
which is about to be released. You will find the docs under the
    Networks and Telecommunications Bookshelf.

No one seems to know what happened to these docs, but we have hopefully
    resolved the problem.
