1150.0. "Two If By Sea" by BUSY::SLAB (They call me Dr. Love) Mon Aug 12 1996 17:42

Dennis Leary, Sandra Bullock, Yaphet Kotto.

Dennis is a thief and Sandra is his girlfriend/accomplice.
They have stolen a painting and are planning on unloading
it to a middleman over the w'end in RI [I don't know enough
about RI to know if the bulk of the movie was actually filmed
there, but it could very well be in Newport].

And you can expect the typical romantic comedy elements, and
the typical "avoid the law by posing as who you're not" story.

This is Dennis' movie all the way, and IMO Sandra is just sort
    	of "there".

Not very impressed overall, but Dennis is pretty good.

I agree...Dennis Leary was decent and it is not like she was bad in the
movie, but the rle just didn't seem to fit her.

Oh, and the IMDB says the movie was filmed in Nova Scotia.

We rented it a couple of weeks ago. I had low expectations but was
very pleasantly surprised. (It tickled me to hear *real* New England
accents, thanks to Denis Leary and [brain cramp: Kevin Meany?].)

I thought the dialogue was fresh and funny and realistic; the pretend-
to-be-who-you're-not stuff was wholly unbelievable, but fun anyway.

The brain cramp relaxed last night. It wasn't Kevin Meaney but
*Lenny Clark* (the tallest of the 4 chuckleheads who set up the
    initial heist).

This was released in the Uk as Stolen Hearts.

I thought it was okay for one of those films that you just don't have
to think whilst watching it. Dennis Leary was far too tame though
compared to his stand-up. It wasn't the kind of film that could launch
    a film career.

Rented this quite a while ago.....thought it was a DOG...
Leary was not his usually funny self......the script was terrible
