                               John Travolta

Date of birth (location)
     18 February 1954, Englewood, NJ

Mini biography
Travolta first gained fame as the swaggering Vinnie Barbarino on the
TV series "Welcome Back, Kotter" (1975). In 1977, he parlayed his
teeny-bopper fame into a big-screen career with the disco blockbuster
Saturday Night Fever (1977). He languished in light dramas and TV
movies in the 1980s, but started a comeback in 1989 with Look Who's
Talking (1989). He further resuscitated his career with an Oscar
nomination for his role as a heavyset sympathetic hitman in in Pulp
     Fiction (1994) in 1994.

I was poking around, looking for info on Horshak [Ron Palillo],
and just for fun I checked out John as well. Some interesting
    	stuff in his biography.

And in case anyone cares, he's about 2 months older than Ron.

    Shawn,

I don't even want to know why you were looking for information on Ron
Palillo! :^) But, since you seem to care, I can provide you with a
Trivia Fun Fact (tm) about him.

Ron Palillo is a graduate of Cheshire High School (in Connecticut). I
don't recall what year he graduated, but it was one of my high school's
few claims to fame (dubious as that particular achievement is). The
other claim to fame is Cheshire was featured in Life magazine some time
in the late sixties/early seventies as a "typical American suburban
    town" or some such thing.

1066.4BUSY::SLABOUNTYCan you hear the drums, Fernando?Sat Apr 20 1996 00:3411

Dave, it was prompted by a question about the guy who plays
Leonard Prince on the show "Boston Common". Someone said
that they'd heard that he was played by Ron Palillo, and I
doubted it highly so I had to look for the info. And, as
long as I was in there, I figured I'd check out Ron's film-
ography to see what he'd been doing. And the answer turned
out to be "not too darned much". 8^)

And BTW, the guy's name is Steve Paymer, and not Ron Palillo.

I know he used to be on day time t.v, Hollywood squares and match game
quite a bit back in the 70's and 80's

I think you only need to watch the first 10 minutes or so...cause he
gets it pretty quick in the graveyard where Jason is buried. :))))

( you know you're dried up when you're the first to get killed off
    in a friday the 13th movie )

    RE: Ron Palillo

He had some guest shot as himself on some sitcom in the past few months
("Caroline in the City" or similar show) when he played the booby prize
to someone who was hoping to meet Travolta at a party.

I think that would be "Ellen", as he's sort of Audrey's (the really
successfully annoying "friend") hearthrob. I've only seen him on the
show once, tho but they made a reference to Audrey going to see him the
    last time I watched.

John Travolta has decided to release his album that he did in 1970's.
I guess from what the DJ's were saying on the radio, its not an album
that is going to do good and the only reason why he is releasing it
again is because of the recent come back in the films that he has had.

> John Travolta has decided to release his album that he did in 1970's.

From the news stories I saw, it wasn't John who "decided" to
re-release that album, but who ever owns the rights to it.
It appears however that he has no objections to it being done
when he was asked about it ...
