1060.0. "Anne Frank Remembered" by ALFA1::MASON (The law of KARMA hasn't been repealed) Mon Apr 08 1996 19:48

This weekend I went to see the Oscar winning documentary called "Anne
Frank Remembered." It's playing in the Boston area at the Kendall Sq
    and West Newton theatres.

I highly recommend it. There are interviews with people who knew her,
and saw her in the camps before she died (sadly, only 2 months before
liberation), as well as with Miep Gies, who helped hide the Frank
    family for 2+ years.

This is the sort of documentary that could have resorted to
sentimentality. It doesn't. The director sought to find out who Anne
Frank was as a person, and break down the icon we have built in the 50
    years since her death.

    Well worth seeing.

this was on T.V here in the UK and it was very interesting!

I only saw about an hour of it, but found it to be excellent!

This movie was also shown on the Disney Channel in the US last summer.
I saw it at that time and yes it was very good.

I agree with your sentiments as well. Was fascinating and sad but
without being maudlin. I was impressed by how articulate and clear-eyed
her best friend and a few others were while relating certain very
    traumatic events.

Anne (Anna) Frank wanted to be famous and so did that little 7-year-old
airplane pilot. They both died needlessly because of misguided adults
and became famous for the wrong reasons.
