| I think you have the right movie as the credits seemed to indicate it
was produced by a German company.
The mountains looked very much like the Canadian Rockies, or the St.
Elias Range, which straddles the Alaska/Yukon border -- any idea what
range of mountains were in the film?

Ebert says "The Bear" was shot in the Dolomites and the Canadian
Arctic, which would probably mean the Yukon.
The credits usually give enough info to figure it from the contracting
companies.

the listing in TV Guide.
