532.0. "IMPROMPTU" by 58632::ESKICIOGLU (Grace Note) Wed Apr 27 1994 18:06

(cross posted in MOVIES and CLASSICAL_MUSIC)

I am looking for information, any information (story,
characters, time, place, artists, producer, any detail,
your comments etc) about the movie IMPROMPTU.

I watched this movie on video two years ago and when I
wanted to rent it again a couple of weeks ago, I was told
that it was sent "back" (?) after 60 days since it only
	appealed to a smaller audience.

We are particularly interested in the duel scene, the duel
between Chopin and George Sand's ex-husband, how it
happened, why it happened and how it ended. I can barely
remember the movie so anything you know is worth sharing.

Also, if you have a copy of this movie and if you would like
to sell or lend, please let me know.

	Thanks

	Lale

ps: I can't remember her name but the lady in the movie
(George Sand's character) was also in Woody Allen's Husbands
	and Wives.

I haven't seen the movie myself, but, FYI, note 5.10 mentions the
usenet's movie database E-mail query server, which could provide you
with the statistical info (names, dates).

And the recently more famous Hugh Grant played Chopin. I loved the
scene where George Sand seduces him. Very funny.

Emma Thompson also plays a very nutty acting woman.

I never heard of such a thing. What a deal for the video store.
"Hey, I'll buy this tape, but if not enough people rent it I want
    my money back."

BTW, I found the movie very enjoyable.

Thanks a bunch guys. You have provided some very useful information.
When I was reading the last reply, most parts of the movie came
back to me clearly. Now, I crave more to see it again. I definitely
    will track down a copy.

    Million thanks.

    Hi Lorna ;-)

de Musset, that's the one. I kept getting Debussy,
and I knew THAT was wrong!
