When installing the new ODBC drivers it is known that you must have expanded the .EXE file in a directory on the PC that is 4 or less characters in length. I believe this "restriction" was due to the total length a filename can be on a PC, right? I have a customer asking if this can change... putting it in a directory that has to be 4 chars or less is very restrictive in their business... he would like to request that this restriction be lifted, but I don't believe it's our restriction... am I correct?
