444.0. "Poorly documented /REGISTRATION_ID qualifier ?" by NOMAHS::SECRIST (Rdb WWS; rsecrist@us.oracle.com) Wed Mar 05 1997 20:48

Registration IDs are not well documented and I have never
had very good results stipulating anything but the full
image name, and then only as displayed in SHOW PROC/CONT.
Is there a source of documentation or examples I missed ?
Section 3.1 in the User's Guide doesn't say much (e.g.
do we even mention using multiple criteria separated by
    	commas, etc.).

    	Regards,
    	rcs

Hi Richard,

If you do COLLECT HELP SCHEDULE COLLECTION/REGISTRATION_ID
the syntax does show that you can utilize comma seperated
lists for multiple criteria. The on-line help gives some
information not mentioned in the hard copy documentation.

The places that I've check in the documentation all seem
to refer back to section 3.1. I'll get back to you if I
find anything else of interest.

What is it that you are trying to do and having difficulty
with? Let me know and I'll help you get the information that
you need.

Future releases (no timeframe available) of Trace will address
the ease of filtering what you wish to collect .

Best regards,
Sheri

Thanks. This was mainly a nit to see if I missed it in the
hardcopy documentation someplace so I could make a plea for
    improved documentation.

For all of the products I really use hardcopy still has as
faster random access time than online documentation ;-)
I'll try to remember to try the online documentation too
    next time.
