Hi, I'm new to the vtstar stuff. I've been using kermit for my terminal emulation use. However, peoply said I should tried vtstar because it maps the keypad better. I copied the vtstar kit (win16.zip) from hannah to my 486 system runing DOS6.2/wfwg. I unzipped ok, installed the fonts, but having problem getting it to work. When I invoke the c:\vtstar\vt320e.exe from program manager, it complaint "can't find file Winsock". I then copied the Windsock.dll from one of my internet provider directory to c:\windows\systems and try again. This time it come back with the network configuration setup window. Do I need to input all those network information, such as IP address, etc. I just want to use vtstar to dial directly to a local dial-in phone line and that connect to WATN then to my time share system. Do I really need Winsock running ? What's the next step to setup and run vtstar for terminal emulation?

I don't think you need to have the network all configured if you only want to use dial-in. Just make sure the comm port settings are correct. /Eric
