Does anyone know if you can buy quantities of Apple's Supreme Parrot
Diet in bulk directly from the company? I got the name of the company
off the bag of seed but before I call them, wondered if anyone ever
tried to order directly from the company. It is Apple's Aviary &
Supply Co., Inc. and is in So. River, NJ.
My brother an I currently split a 50 pound bag of seed every month or
so but it is quite expensive to buy from the pet store (around $70 and
that's with a so-called discount).
If you don't know about this particular bird food, do you know of any
that are more reasonably priced and as good. I know some of you bird owners
don't like the fact that they put coloring in the seed (Note 100), but
my birds and my brothers birds love this food and we swear by it. They
love it and eat it up and I don't waste alot. I just ran out of it and
bought some other stuff to hold them over until we get another large
bag (I think it was L&M brand vitta-vittles) and it seems there are
more seeds on the bottom of the cage unshucked. Also, they don't like
all the little seeds that are in there (they don't even get touched).
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Donna,
I'm not famillar with the brand name APLLES SUPREME PARROT DIET
but if you live near Salem N.H. Dodge grain on Rt. 28 has very
reasonable prices on parrot and all kinds of bird foods and supplies.
They're located right in front of Grossmans. I buy my parrot mix from
them and I pay only $0.49 a LB. almost every place else is 3 times
that.Good luck!

Hey Donna,
How have you been? Wow ... That's a lot of money to pay for seed.
Dodge Grain is an excellent place to get supplies. If you don't
live in New Hampshire then you can go to Errikson Grain in Acton, Ma.
They are located on Rt. 27. Their prices are very reasonable and they
will get what you need. I use L/M Vitavittles and I pay $42.00 for a
50 pound bag. The average price in pet stores is $56.00.
I am familiar with the Apple Seed Diet, I smells nice and looks real
good. I didn't like all the sunflower seeds and the colored crunchies.
The birds do love it though. Anyway, I hope this helps.
