44.0. "YOU MADE THE FRONT PAGE !!!!!!!!!!" by WITNES::MACONE (It's the story of a man named Brady) Mon Nov 07 1988 10:59

    Jean,

I picked up the Nashua Telegraph yesterday. WOW. You made front
page! Congratulations!!!!! And 4 pictures total. All in color!
The article was pretty interesting too.

   You must be quite pleased.

    Jean!

Congratulations!!!! Can you make us out-a-staters some copies?
I'll send my mail stop to you...

Your advice and help in this notes file is great! We know you know
your stuff, but this takes the cake!

    Keep up the good work....

    Karen from Colorado.

PS. I did it again, I bought a hand-fed baby Green Cheek Conure
this weekend and also will be picking up a baby Painted Conure in
about 4 weeks. Shame on me? No way... I love these critters! but...
75? I don't think I could handle that many, besides my husband
    would surely divorce me!

    See-ya!
44.2Blush, Blush and Blush Again!FREKE::HUTCHINSFeathered Obsessions AviaryMon Nov 07 1988 15:1334

When I picked up yesterdays paper and poured my coffee and finally
sat on the couch and finally looked at the paper, I almost dropped
the coffee on my pearl brocade sofa!!! I JUST GET SO EXCITED ABOUT
THINGS I BECOME DANGER! I had NO idea I'd see me on the front page!
I mean, 2 days before elections, nuclear site problems, falling
leaves and traffic jams, who makes the front page! Gee! I am soo
    flattered, I can't stand it!

The phone rang off the hook all day long! "Please by my cockatiel"
"can you please make my parakeet well, we love him dearly, but hes
dying"..."Can you help find a home for my parrott" My birds seem
sick, and I won't go to the vets, will you take the birds..." I
mean, I could go on and on...

BTW: I AM NOT offering refuge for ill birds! Almost all of these
calls were referred to two veterinarian friends of mine!

And Karen...I get to thinking <I know my stuff too> but then again,
I really am not so great! I learned EVERY lesson at the school
of hard knocks...like Advanced Crisis 301...I became so devistated
twice first of swore off birds...then I just made a promise to share
all these lessons with other bird lovers. I always "write" from
personal experience and if I can save someone else from what I went
thru, I surely will! I have been given the "gife" of being able
to handle animals and understand their needs. My responsibility
to to share that with everyone that I can!

But, yeah, I'm so *high* you'd think I ate those little "hemp" seeds
    in the parrot mix!!!

    Thanks again for the compliments!!!
