617.0. "TEIL EGG QUESTIONS" by CSLALL::LEONHART (Aussie land calling me) Tue Oct 22 1991 13:13

I was wondering if any one knows just how long it takes for
the eggs to hatch. My girl has been sitting on here 4 eggs
about 20 days now. I also don't know what egg came first.
What are some of the signs that an egg is no good? (the male is with
her) Any help will be very helpful. I also have some reading
    material from the breeder.

thank you all for the help..

If you do a DIR/TITLE="BREED" you'll find a couple of notes on
    breeding.

Anyway, the books say 17 to 21 days for an egg to hatch. You may have
in unfertilized batch. With a strong flashlight held behind the egg,
rotate it a little and see if you see the yolk moving, or if you see a
yolk at all, for that matter. If you do, trash the egg. If you can't
see thru the egg at all, the babies in there ready to hatch. If you
can see thru but you see lines and stuff, that's the developing bird.
We had a batch of unfertilized eggs this spring. With a strong
flashlight, it's easy to see when they're no good.
