| Try rice, either white or brown, with wheatgerm and parsley flakes
mixed in, and a little bit of hard-cooked egg chopped up for an
extra treat. Little birds like the finches love this stuff, but
do change it frequently because it spoils fast, and they don't
seem to notice and can get sick from eating it if it has been in
the cage too long. This is a great mixture to put your powdered
vitamins (or liquid, for that matter) in. Add some Nekton-MSA for
extra calcium and minerals, and you have a very healthy snack.

| Hi, I have 2 Teils and i find that only the male will try differnet
foods, the female will not even look at it until she see's that Sid
(the male) is having a good time eating something.
Sachy(female) is on the very shy side she is hand raised but is rather
timmid. sid on the other hand came close to loosing his head one day.
I was sitting on the cough one night and eating Ice cream and watching
TV. Well not paying any attention to sid who was bussy walking all over
me, decided that he was going to sample what I had on my spoon and in
my mouth the spoon goes with Sids head.
I since am more carefull of what i put in my mouth and where Sid is .
But i have found that sid will try almost any thing i have in my hand .
Keep trying you never know..

| My cockatiels would never try new foods. I would always have a
separate dish for the special veggies, etc. Then one day I decided
to try putting the veggies on the top of their seed and after a few
tries, they started nibbling on the broccoli, and corn. They are still
partial to only a couple of veggies (mainly corn - canned, not frozen
Delmonte's salt-free) and some of them like broccoli and spinach
leaves. But try putting the veggies on top of their seed, you may
have some luck. They don't seem to care at all for fruit, although at
times they will nibble on an apple slice. Another trick that someone
told me about is clipping the veggie on a spray millet clip. I do
that with a large broccoli floret and some of them like it that way.
Good Luck. It takes time and lots of patience!
