485.0. "Help name my Amazon!" by TRNPRC::WERBER (I'm wearing my yellow ribbon...) Mon Jan 21 1991 17:22

OK gang - I need your input on giving my new male Yellow Nape Amazon a
name. I am no good at this naming thing - my dog is named Frosty so that
tells you a lot right there!

Any and ALL named will be considered! Really need some help with this!

I've wanted a Yellow Nape for years but don't have one yet.

How does the name BRUCE strike you? My second choice for a male bird
    would be BYRON.

    Hi Peggy,

How about a Spanish name? Either of something or an actual
name-name....Examples: Amarillo for yellow....Amigo for friend
Esperanza for hope...etc. If you have an English name or item
or characteristic that you want to know the Spanish equivalent,
send me mail and I'll get the translations for you.

Hmmm, as far as personality, he laughs a lot, like to go upside down
very much, and likes to be on his back. He is a typically independent
bird from what I can tell (I don't even have him yet! I am picking him
    up Sunday).

Those Spanish names are making me think - they sound pretty good. Also
the suggestions garding the mens name are excellent. I will have such
    a tough decision!

Well, thanks for the suggestions. Since his original name is Jayson,
I thought I should keep at least part of that, so I named him JJ, short
for Jungle Jayson. Corny I know but I think JJ has a nice ring to it.

    Thanks
