441.0. "Missing Baby Parrot" by CLOSET::COMPTON (Linda DTN381-0687 ZKO1-2/C21) Thu Oct 25 1990 21:54

    Baby Blue-Front Amazon missing from the Family Pet & Aquarium Store on
    Route 101A (Amherst Street) in Nashua, NH. Disappeared October 15.
    Assumed stolen. Three months of age. No band. Does not talk, but
    is very friendly. Also has extremely beautiful coloring and is large
    for its age. Was bought and paid for and new owner was about to come in
    and pick up the bird when this happenened. Reward is being offered by
    the store for any information .... Call 603-880-5464-ask for Bill.
    (and, no, I was _not_ the about-to-be new owner)

441.1What a CutieTJT01::ARMITAGEFri Oct 26 1990 15:2810
    Linda,

    I was there the night the bird disappeared. He was a cutie! I was
    there until the store was closed. I got the news the next day at the
    pet store I work at and I was very surprized. The woman who was
    suppose to pick up the bird called about 15 minutes prior to closing to
    tell them that she wouldn't be able to pick it up until Weds. I'll bet
    she's kicking herself now! I hope they find him.

441.2Irony continues....CLOSET::COMPTONLinda DTN381-0687 ZKO1-2/C21Sat Oct 27 1990 22:4314
    Hi Lisa,

    The bird I entered for someone else as note 13.179 was purchased today
    by Bill, the owner of Family Pet. There is a chance that maybe the
    owners who didn't get the baby bird will want this one instead. I
    heard from the lady that sold the bird that, unfortunately, someone
    who saw the posting here just missed the opportunity to buy the bird...
    he called right after the sale. The other bird is a little older and
    not as tame as a handfed domestic, and probably never will be since it
    is a wild-caught, so it will be interesting to see if the family that
    lost the baby bird give this other one a new home. If not, it will
    be for sale at the pet store, I assume.
