358.0. "Chickens in Ashland?" by AKOV13::LAJEUNESSE () Fri May 11 1990 16:11

    Hi,

    Does anyone know of a guy in Ashland that has a chicken farm of exotic
    poultry.

    A friend of mine has been to this place before and he would like to go
    and pick up about a half a dozen chickens this weekend.

    He has a small farm and would like to add some interesting birds to his
    barn yard.

    Please let me know if you know of this guy.

    Please also send me mail at AKOV13::LAJEUNESSE.

    Thanks,

    Mark

358.1Ashland Town Clerk Might KnowCLOSET::COMPTONLinda DTN 232-2441 ACO/E47Tue May 15 1990 21:358
    I haven't heard of this farm, but sometimes the town clerk knows a lot
    about who has what businesses, especially something unusual like this.
    Try the Ashland town office and ask for the town clerk....the dog
    officer for the town might also know something about this type of
    operation in his/her jurisdiction. I'd be curious to hear about
    it if you get more information.

    Thanks Linda. What I did was call the Police Dept. Each Police Dept
    has a Admin number you can call.

    They said that he has been out of business for some time.

    Oh well. If anyone runs across a place that has fancy poultry i.e.
    poultry for fun. Let me know.

    Thanks,

358.3We've got some!ESIS::FEASEAndrea Midtmoen FeaseFri Jun 01 1990 01:3214
    Hi Mark,

         We get our birds from a nice gentleman in Hubbardston. So far we
    have gotten turkeys, pheasants, quail, partridge and, recently,
    chickens. He also has guinea hens, peacocks and other strange and
    exotic birds. If you're interested, please send me mail and I'll send
    you his address/phone number.

         We have a bunch of chickens that we got from him for our place in
    RI. If you are interested in having some of the birds in the late
    fall, let me know. I'm sure we won't be able to keep them all at our
    place in Shrewsbury.
