302.0. "Flight cages" by RIPPLE::DEAL_EI () Sun Jan 07 1990 15:08

    Has anyone bought a flight cage from Corners Unlimited? I am looking
    at a current copy of The Canary & Finch Journal and they are
    advertising a flight cage  78 1/4 x 60 3/8 x 30 3/8.  It has a door
    in the middle measuring 18 3/8 x 48 1/2 inches tall. The flight
    sits on wheels and looks very square, utilitarian, ok, it's ugly!

    However, it's exactly what I need -- but for $295 plus shipping,
    I want a sanity check. Has anyone purchased one of these? Where
    are the doors for feeding, the photo makes it look as if there are
    none and yet, it doesn't make sense to enter the flight to feed.

    Appreciate any advice, with regards,

    Eileen

    I bought the one with no bottom and placed it on the floor. slide
    it around for cleaning. took 3 days to assamble and I added my
    own doors on the side for feeding. ran out of washers & screws
    too. can not use electric screw gun due to strip out of wholes.

    looks great and is very easy to keep clean.

    So what you're saying is that it comes with no feeding access??
    Did you cut into the panels or what? I'm not the least bit handy,
    and would be afraid of destroying the cage! Since you ran out of
    parts, had to create an alteration and don't use the entire system,
    do you still think it was worth your investment?

    thanks for the help!
302.3what you see is what you getsSVCRUS::KROLLThu Jan 11 1990 17:094
    What you see is what you gets. Yes I cut into the panel wires I
    usually build things myself and found that this was a cheaper way
    to go than to get the individual parts. I also had to pre drill
    the holes and that is not in the instructions eather.

    Thank you for the input. I don't think I have tools or expertise
    to drill and/or modify. Perhaps this isn't the solution I thought
    it would be.

    Much appreciate your correspondence.
