When I have left my conure, c'tiel, and lovebirds over a night or
two, I leave several extra food dishes only part way full, my guys
are picky and sometimes won't look under the top layer of empty
seed hulls for the still good seed underneath. Also I hang the
dishes high up in the cages or they have little hoods on them so
the food and water don't become soiled from birds pearching over
them. On the fruits and veggies, only leave what you are pretty
sure they will eat befor it gets rotten. If it's a warm weekend
(like I'm hoping for :^) ) veggies can go bad very quickly.
I like to leave things like rasins, dried apple, dried banana
stuff you can get from health food stores that doesn't realy go
bad but my guy's seem to like chewing at it. One more thing,
you won't be there to open or close windows to control the
temp. level or drafts, so think about where in the house you leave
them. A window view is nice but being stuck in strong sun with
no relief can be dangerous.
I hope you have a good weekend, I know it will be even better
if you don't have to worry about your little feathered friends.
The best thing to save worry is ask a trusted friend or nieghbor
to look in on them.
Have fun,
Kris, Woody & Flipper ( the love birds are now in a new home sitting
on four eggs)
