| Great story! That must have been a fun ride home!
We are fairly 'new' bird owners, so pretty much everything Doc does,
we get a kick out of. Here's something that happened that we thought was
cute.
On Sat. morning, a couple of weeks ago we slept late. I was up, making
the bed, getting ready to come out to make breakfast. I could hear Doc jibber-
jabbering away. Something was different, though, he sounded very close. His
cage and perch stand are about 20-25 feet away from the bedroom.
I opened the bedroom door and there he was, on the floor in the
doorway. He looked up at me, said "Hello" and proceeded to 'waddle' in
for a visit!!
I guess he figured if we weren't coming out, he'd come in and get
us up!

| Hello! Yes, those are cute stories, and Val, no matter how many
birds you have, or how long you have them, they are always giving
us something to talk about, and drive the non-bird community bats!
Well, here's my short story 8^}
Last nite, I came home in a pretty ugly mood, and I guess Freddie
realized it. She was VERY quiet! Well, she looked so forlorn,
I took her out of the cage to cuddle...Then we went to my room
to change clothes...
Freddie went on top of a mirror, and was looking down at me and
then I realized there was a very funny, not so nice, bordering on
stink, smell in my bedroom....well, even a weeks worth of dirty
laundry does not smell that bad....
Are you dying to find out what it was??? 8^}
Fred had bad breath!!! Know why? Well, I'll tell you since you
have been so kind to wait.....
I am a sort of deranged where my pets are concerned, and I bake
cookies for my dogs! Their favorites are garlic and cheese....Fred
LOVED the cookies, so she gets one when the dogs do....
I think I'll modify the recipe from garlic to peanut butter!!!

| Last night, I was taking a nice relaxing bath. I had brought Clair
in on her perch and brought a play pen in for the TB (my grey) so
they could enjoy hearing the echoes of their voices in the bathroom.
My Grey decided he was board so he came down to join me on the side
of the tub. He was intrigued by the water. He kept dipping his
beak in like he does when he is bathing. I watched him carefully
and told him to pay attention to what he was doing but... I turned
my head for a second to see what clair was doing and IN HE JUMPED!
I promptly picked his little soaked body out of the water and put
him back on the edge and asked him how he enjoyed that... Just at
that moment, HE JUMPED IN AGAIN! The water was a little deap for
him, so I held him on my hand. He played like crazy for about a
minute. I put him back on the side of the tub with a towel and
he began to shake and dry off.
Now just for some peoples piece of mind, there weren't any bubbles
(soap) in the water and the water was pretty warm, but not hot. He
loved it. Next time I will fill up the tub enough so he doesn't get
overwhelmed by water and let him take a bath first!

| The following is from a recent issue of Reader's Digest (it is
amazing what you will read when you are at the beach for three
days), and was contributed by Barbara Jannatpour.
LOVE NEST
My husband and I, newlyweds and animal lovers, bought an Amazon
parrot when we moved to our first apartment. Since pets were not
allowed, we had to keep JuJu a secret. Soon our little friend became
an accomplished talker and mimic. His favorite trick was returning
parrot kisses after I commanded in a loud voice: "GIVE ME A KISS!
GIVE ME A BIG SMOOCH!" Within days JuJu was repeating those words
incessantly doing his parrot-perfect imitation of me: "GIVE ME A
KISS! GIVE ME A BIG SMOOCH." I hadn't realized how thin that walls
were until the day I found this note on my door: "Look, lady - I
realize you're newlyweds, but give the poor guy a break!"
