After I looked at the note I entered, I realized that I had 
given very little information.

   I have two cages for sale.  One is a Hoei and the other is a Prevue 
   Hendryx.
   
The Hoei's dimensions are 28" high by 21 1/2" wide by 21 1/2" deep.  
It opens from the top into a play area and has a large door in the front 
for easy access.  This cage has a brass finish and a white base. 
I'm asking $100.00 for it.  Make me an offer.

The Prevue Hendryx is much larger.  It's dimensions are 54" high, (the 
actual cage is 43" high, but the cage sits on a stand with rollers that 
makes it an additional 9" high) by 36" wide, by 24" deep.  This cage also 
opens at the top for a play area and has a very large front door for easy 
access and cleaning.  The food dishes are accessable with out opening the 
cage door and they lock into place.  The cage has a brass finish and a 
black roller base.  I'm asking 300.00 for this one.  It was a $500.00 cage 
new.

    I'd like to try again to find a home for my two male Cockateils.
    
    They're both hand-fed and very tame and affectionate.  My problem
    is that they demand more attention than I am able or willing to
    give, so I'd like to find someone who would really love them and
    pay lots of attention to them.  The only other thing I'd ask is
    that you feed them and change their water twice per day, and that
    you're willing to include fresh fruits and veggies every day.  This
    is what they're used to and they're very healthy.  
                                                       
    They're both about 4-5 months old.  One is a normal Grey color,
    and the other is a Cinnamon (a little lighter than the normal grey
    with more yellow on the head).  
    
    I paid $105 for the Grey and $150 for the Cinnamon, $60 for the
    cage, plus $$ for the dishes, toys, vitamines, food.  Does someone
    want to provide a loving home for these two?  Maybe we can work
    a deal.

	For Sale:  One Female (I think) Goffin Cockatoo.

	Roxie is about 4-5 Years old and is white with peach color under
her crest and wings.  She is a very pretty bird and has been well cared for.
She is not hand tame and is very shy (moves away from you until she gets to 
know who you are).  I got her about a year ago but I have not had time to
work closely with her.  We have 2 other birds Jake (Lilac Crown) and Mookie
(Timneh) that are tame and we are still training Mookie.  Due to time
constraints (training Mookie and a new baby) I have not been able to work
with Roxie.  I'm starting to feel guilty that she doesn't get enough attention
so I'd like to sell her to someone that could give her more attention.  This
way perhaps she will get hand tamed before she's too set in her ways.

	Roxie is located in Salem NH. she comes with a cage and stand.
Her diet is a seed mix with Super Preen pellets thrown in along with
occasional meats and veggies (chicken, steak without anything on it,
even fish!  as well as cut up veggies when were making dinner I try
to give the birds some).  It is more important to me that we 
find a good home for her than how much I could get for her so I'm 
asking $300 for Roxie with cage and stand.

    Hi fellow bird lovers.
    	I have a beautiful pair of cockatiels who just wont let up on
    laying clutches of eggs. the male is 3 1/2 yrs and the female almost
    3, and they have already had three successful clutches.I have taken
    away their last two(in the last two months)and there are now two
    eggs on the bottom of the cage being incubated by mommy bird.I am
    quite sure that there will be 3 or 4 more before they are done.If
    there is someone out there who would like to haave them,(the eggs)
    let me know as I am not in the position to house baby birds at this
    time. The male is a large lutino with lots of yellow throughout
    his feathers.The female is a pearl with a beautiful lace pattern
    of white. The little peckerheads turn out as either pearls with
    a yellow lace pattern or just like dad. I live in Auburn,Mass and
    work in Northboro,both are near Worcester.Let me know because I
    will be taking them away in a week.

We recently learned that my wife is allergic and so, the bird must go.

Gilligan is friendly, playful, a good talker and loves to be patted. 
Favorite saying is "hello, I love you".

Purchased about six months ago from Sylvia King. Although Gilligan was not a
hand fed baby he is quite tame.

His cage is a large HOIE with removable tray and two service doors for food

    Our two parrots no longer go to work with my partner, so they need to
    be in their cages during the day.  They agree that they've graduated
    from their playpen.  The playpen is open on one side, five feet long, 
    about 1 1/2 feet tall and deep.  The food dishes hang on the back,
    and there's two perches with dowels of various widths to exercise
    their feet.  Our birds (Amazon and African Grey) traded perches,
    climbed ropes, and walked along the front edge.  The play pen is bolted
    to a counter top, so it can be placed at any height.  This is great for
    one large bird, and as I mentioned, our two medium birds got along
    well.  The materials cost about $100 dollars to build it, but it's a

    	I would like to find a home for a female Diamond Dove. I
    	don't know her age, it less than 5 yrs. She is a very
    	pretty, passive bird. She spends most of her time perched
    	quietly or feeding on her cage bottom. She coos like a 
    	mourning dove. 
    
    	I feel that she needs a) to be in a bigger cage, she was a
    	gift and is in a 15hx9wx12l bamboo cage, and b) a quieter
    	environment, perhaps with other similar birds. She startles
    	easily, and my cats just love to sit and drool at her. (they
    	can't get at her).

After I looked at the note I entered, I realized that I had 
given very little information.

   I have two cages for sale.  One is a Hoei and the other is a Prevue 
   Hendryx.
   
The Hoei's dimensions are 28" high by 21 1/2" wide by 21 1/2" deep.  
It opens from the top into a play area and has a large door in the front 
for easy access.  This cage has a brass finish and a white base. 
I'm asking $100.00 for it.  Make me an offer.

The Prevue Hendryx is much larger.  It's dimensions are 54" high, (the 
actual cage is 43" high, but the cage sits on a stand with rollers that 
makes it an additional 9" high) by 36" wide, by 24" deep.  This cage also 
opens at the top for a play area and has a very large front door for easy 
access and cleaning.  The food dishes are accessable with out opening the 
cage door and they lock into place.  The cage has a brass finish and a 
black roller base.  I'm asking 300.00 for this one.  It was a $500.00 cage 
new.

    I visited the Docktor Pet Store in Nashua yesterday and was told that
    all the large parrots were 1/2 price.  They want to move them in order
    to make room for a shipment of younger birds due in shortly.  All birds
    that they don't sell will be tansferred out.  The birds that are 
    available are a couple of yellow napes, blue fronts, a cockatoo,
    and an african grey congo.  All or most are hand tamed and have
    been worked with extensively by their appointed trainer.  The african
    grey is priced at $499 (no state tax) and is quite friendly.  He
    sat on my shoulder for quite awhile.  The yellow napes are in
    very good feather and are both extremely friendly. They scampered
    up my sleeve immediately.  I don't know what the amazons or cockatoo
    was priced at - I didn't ask.  They all seemed in perfect health
    and well kept up.  I spoke with the trainer who was quite
    knowledgable.  All birds were imports.

    
    2 MALE(?) PARAKEETS AND THEIR CAGE FOR SALE!.  One is blue/purple with
    a yellow face (name is STORMY).  The other is pastel green with a yellow
    face (name is OPAL).  They are both healthy birds.  Opal is the singer.

    For Sale: 1 beautifully well groomed Goffin Cockatoo named CoaCo. I 
    purchaced Coaco in September, and they told me Coaco was a Female, but 
    that Coaco was not surgically sexed. They also said that she was 
    approximately 2 years old. She is semi tamed, because once off the cage, 
    she will get on my arm, and will not bite. Coaco can fly, so I think she 
    would tame up faster if her wings were clipped and someone had more time 
    to work with her than I do.
    
    The reason I'm selling Coaco is because I have an African Grey and I
    don't have enough room for 2 birds.  Asking price for Coaco is $250.00
    
    I'm also selling 1 Hoei cage which I purchased 1 month ago. The
    measurements are 17"x17"x27". The metal dishes have been replaced with 
    smoke colored plastic dishes, which I feel are better and safer for the

	"I have the 2 big cages for them and had a couple of base trays made. 
    	The base trays are smaller than the cages so the cages should be cut 
    	down some before using the trays. Both cages fit on top of a nice 
    	roller rack so you can clean around them. I also have the breeding 
    	house.  (note from author.. these cages stack on top of each other,
    	and are about 2 1/2' high [each] 3 1/2' wide and 2 1/2' in depth... 
    	the authors guestimate... I've only seen the cages twice)

	I can not afford to keep a house warm enough to keep the birds. It 
    	boils down to some economics and the fact that they need someone to 
    	spend more time with them than I can give.

	Any ideas on who might like the birds?  I have about $125 in cages and 
    	paid $75 for Eagle 4 years ago. Pete has been with me for ~7 years and 
    	still seems to be doing well." (author's note... I got my Zephyr
    	from Howard, and he is a nice health bird.. both mom and dad are in

    Baby parakeets ready to go now.  I have five babies, which have been

    I recently just purchased the Red Lory that was for sale in a previous
    note.  The bird is truly a beautiful bird with great coloring, mostly
    red with accents of blue and green.  I have only had him since 3-2-91
    and I am really getting attached to him.  The reason I am putting him
    back up for sale is that a household member is severely allergic to
    him ( maybe because he is molting ?), but is it strange because I also
    have a cockatiel which doesn't seem to bother her.
    
    I brought her/him to the Vet last night (3-12) to have a check up,
    wings clipped ,split ring removed, nails and beak trimmed.  Dr.
    Sagar (sp) said he looked fine.  
    
    Temperment:
    
    He seems to be fine with my a cockatiel, but needs some love and
    attention froms humans who can train (learning to stick train as we
    speak.) 
    
    Price :
    
    $150 (firm) which is the same price I paid, but a trip to the vet cost
    $50.00
    The price includes toys, a book on Lories, a cage and some mynah food.

    Since we have an imminent new arrival (hopefully), we've decided to cut
    down on our 'jungle'. The Greys are staying, but the cockies are going,
    provided that we can find a good home for them.
    
    Two cockatiels - Ollie & Susie. Both are in show condition - Ollie [I
    can't remember the correct names] is the grey variety with yellow head
    (no cinnamon streaks - pure grey), with very long 'punk' crest. Susie
    is the 'lemon' variety - very attractive, as is her personality.
    
    Both are tame, and would become silly-tame if they were separated.
    However, they've been together for 4 years now, and we will not split
    them.
    They have bred successfully in the past.  A large cage plus extras are

    Custom built aviary for sale.  My husband built a beautiful aviary
    but we have decided that birds are not for us and now have this

    this is an idea of what it looks like.  Sort of like a sideboard with a 
    hutch top but the back is open (we were planning to put a piece of
    plexi glass on the wall behind it) as is the center of each side piece.
    There are two sets of 4ft vita lights installed in the top with a
    concealed switch.  the inside of the top side pieces and the top
    of the bottom piece are covered in a neutral formica type material
    picked specifically to help camoflage droppings. The bottom has
    3 large drawers, a double door cabinet on each side and the center is
    a pull out drawer for newspaper, seed of trash.  
    It's made out of oak and is very heavy but the caster on the bottom
    allow for easy moving.  Finish is natural, polyurethane.  
    It's designed for cages to either sit on the bottom or be hung from 
    the top.

    Umbrella cockatoo named Charlie.  About 10 years old, unknown sex.  A
    wonderfully sweet personality bird.  He has been in a home now for a
    while with an elderly owner who just cannot properly take care of him
    any longer.  He is quite used to being on his own, and therefore is
    less demanding than the average cockatoo.
    
    He is now in excellent condition, and loves being held, petted,
    whistled at.  He does quite a dance when you sing or clap at him, and
    he makes perfect dog whine imitations.  He NEVER bites - he is just the
    sweetest bird I have ever met and I really feel for him, that he would
    find a good home.

    I have a large parakeeet cage (HOIE) for sale in excellent condition.
    It is black with a white pull-out tray.  I got it for my cockatiel
    but found that the door was not quite large enough for him.  It has
    been used only a short time, since I got a large tiel (Hoie) cage with
    a pull down front for him.  I am looking for the best offer on this
    cage.  I think this cage would be excellent for parakeets, finches,

Selling our Blue Front Amazon "Alex" to a good home.  She has been
"Zoogen" blood sexed and confirmed to be a female. We have had all Vet
blood testing on her to make sure she is free from disease. Alex was
weaned from a seed diet and now eats a pelleted diet with lots of
fruits and veggies, and loves to share the food from your plate when
you let her. Although she is still abit shy, she is hand tame and will
take treats from your hand and loves spending time out of her cage and
on a playpen/perch.  She is between 2-3 years of age and says a few
words, she is very quiet, especially for an amazon and entertains
herself nicely with toys. Asking $350.00.

       The cage is about 20in x 20in square and about 30in high. not
    including the 6 or so in. base pan. I used it for less than three
    months for a small parrot until I moved and sold the bird to a breeder.
    
    I also have a pirch that has a large round tray under the prirch and
    has a metal feeder cup at either end. Sorry I don't know the brand of
    either piece.

    take the nest away fast enough!) and pretty soon there won't be
    enough room in the cage to swing a cat!

    who could go with him (free).  She is the result of some uninformed
    breeding (and I bought her before I knew anything, which is not to
    say I know much now) and has some deformed toes.  But she has had
    babies who were just fine and this male is most definitely not related
    to her.

    Does anyone know of anyone in the SouthEast Texas area (Houston,
    specifically) that is looking for a good deal on a very nice blue and
    gold macaw?  
    
    My local pet shop has asked me to help out in placing her if I can. 
    Popcorn is a rescue bird.  She was owned by folks who split up, and was
    quite neglected.  When she came into the shop, she was ratty looking,
    feathers plucked and shredded, nervous and timid.  I believe she is
    under 5 years old, but I can check if anyone needs that info.
    
    She has been brought back to excellent health, and has been socialized
    at the shop.  She is outgoing, tends towards being a bit pushy towards
    Echo, the Greenwing she shares cage space with, but never injures him
    or shows serious aggression.  She is not really cuddly, but does crave
    attention.  She LOVES to explore with her beak and tongue - I stood
    still for almost half an hour last night while Popcorn explored every
    inch of my left hand and arm with her tongue.  She can be a little
    nippy when out of her cage, but quits when she is moved/held below
    eyelevel.  Oh yes, and she talks up a storm.  She's very talented, and
    always greets me with a big "HELLO" when I open the shop's door.
    
    Popcorn's previous owner apparently needs money and either wants her
    money for the bird or wants the bird back this week.  This bird has
    really blossomed and flourished while in the shop.  In a home where she
    can be lavished with attention, she will be a lovely pet.  The shop
    owners are really worried that this bird will go to an inappropriate
    home if the previous owner takes her back, and would like to find a
    real "bird home" for her ASAP.
    
    Popcorn can be purchased for $700.  She's a honey, and she's easily
    worth more.  If you know of anyone who has always wanted that special
    macaw and has never been able to afford one, this is a terrific

I've owned "Dumpling" and "Ras" since they were about 3 months old.
I bought them directly from their breeder; they're now around 3 years
old. They've had very good care, and enjoy being around people, music, and
noise. They like to sing, but it's proportional to the amount of noise
around them ... the more music they hear, the more they sing!
They enjoy each other's company, but must be in separate cages
(they fight otherwise).  

I'm looking to find them a new home for several reasons.  We moved
a year ago, and our new home doesn't have a place for them in
a high-traffic area like the family room.  They thus reside in the
dining room, where there's good light, but not a whole lot going on.
They're bored!  Also, we're looking to get another dog, which will
stretch my limits for available pet care time.

I want these guys to go to a home where their new owners will
have time for them.  They're used to fresh veggies each day, in
addition to their normal seed.  They'd love to be with someone
who can talk to them and give them attention.

    Beau is a wonderful handfed umbrella cockatoo, still being weaned,
    
    probably ready after Thanksgiving to go home with some lucky person
    or family.  Domestic closed-banded, vet-checked.  Large but quiet.  
    My guess is he is a male, but will sex the bird if that is important.  
    
    Currently being raised with another young umbrella cockatoo.  Used to 
    large dogs.  Also used to being taken out at least twice a day for 
    some quality time, in addition to feeding times.  
    
    If you want a bird that is gentle, beautiful in spirit and physical 
    appearance, loving, and will live for probably at least three decades,
    if not longer, consider Beau as a possible addition to your household.
    
    Payment terms and price negotiable for an ideal situation.  Also open
    to barter for all or part of the purchase price.  I am not in a 
    hurry to sell the bird.  I want Beau to be in a place where he will
    be treasured, well-fed, and given adequate contact time so he stays
    happy and socialized.

    words and phrases, but I talk to her all the time.  You get out what you

    I have a 2-3 year old Cherry Head for sale. He needs someone who can
    give him alot of attention. He was given to me because the owner passed
    away and the spouse didn't want him. I have had him for about 6 months
    and it is breaking my heart to have to place this ad but I already have
    7 other birds and a very hectic schedule and can't give him the
    dedication he needs. I don't think before I got him that he was ever
    even handled. He has made tremendous progress. He will climb up on your
    hand, although he prefers to get up on your arm instead. I am able to
    pet him but not yet for any long period of time. He still is quite
    skiddish but he has changed so much since I have had him. I just have
    too many birds too handle. I am only asking for someone who can give 
    hime the time and patience he needs. The price can easily be
    negotiated as I am more so looking for a very good home for him..
    he is quite the character..and even though he is skiddish and nippy he
    is sweet...he needs to get into a permanent home where he can feel
    secure...the other reason (besides time) that I am sadly looking for a
    home for him is that he has an obsession with my Mitrid Conure and
    cries for him if they are not in the same room which in my case is not

    his head and say ah_huh) he gives kisses, he says sa'bou (sp) (french for
    good) when he wants something your eating/drinking... He like's to
    play!!!!! HE like's the shower or the bathtub, but only likes it when
    your in there with him.
    
    This is tough for me, but it's the best for him.... He will need a
    stable home, and a home that has knowlege of owning a bird.....

    Sparky is a big, beautiful Amazon with lots of personality.  He barks,
    whistles and clearly says 7 or more words.  Sparky is 8 years young and
    set in his ways.  He likes to roam, sleep, chew on leather and have his
    feet massaged.  He likes to be talked to and his favorite words are
    "scratch" and "peanut" (self explanitory words).
    
    Sparky has a slightly jealous nature and would prefer someone to call
    his own.  He has a fascination with little girls, so if you have one in
    your home, he will probably bond with her if any interaction is
    allowed.
    
    We hate to give him up but we have too many birds to give them all the
    attention that they deserve.  Sparky will be a wonderful addition to

    opens as a door, there is also a door within that piece.  There are two
    sliding doors for the dishes also.  The dishes that came with the cage
    are not the right ones.  I didn't realize this till I got the cage home
    but I hadn't planned on using them anyway.  The base of the cage is
    black plastic with a slide out tray.  No perches with the cage.

         We are looking for a *home* for our pet rooster Speckles.  We have
    done everything to try to keep this bird (even tried to have it
    neutered, but that was unsuccessful) and, since the neighbors don't
    like the 5:00AM wake-up call (too bad, *I* do), we are forced to find a
    home for him.
    
         We do *NOT* want him slaughtered, and we must insist that if the
    new home doesn't work out, we want him back.
    
         Speckles looks like a speckled hamburg rooster, white with some
    black speckles and black lines in his tail.  He is now 26 weeks old, so
    fully grown, and is small, 3-4 pounds at the most.  He was in with our
    young laying hens until a couple of weeks ago when we tried his
    unsuccessful surgery.  He chatters and crows well ;^) , and is a nice
    bird.
    
         Since I am on vacation until Monday, the 16th, please call us at

   As an alternative if no one comes forward would be to donate the bird to
Old Sturbridge Village or some petting zoo or something, a place where they
have animals, but not as a working farm.

   You might also have some success in artificially controlling the light he
sees (i.e. keep him in almost total darkness until YOU want him to wake up.)
Of course by this time the neighbors may complain if the crowing starts at
any time of day...

         We have looked into some petting farms, and are continuing to
    look.  I'm hoping that somehow, someway I can keep this bird, or at
    least find it a *good* home.
    
         Speckels unfortunately starts crowing before the sun even comes up
    - and continues all day long ;^) .  *I* like it, but the neighbors
    aren't animal people (they only grudgingly put up with the ducks and
    chickens).  So I need to keep the peace :-( .
    
         Someone else told me about hormone treatments, I'm going to look
    into this one as well.

One of my vendors found a budgie in a tree by his car in Nashua (on his way to
work) yesterday. When he opened the car door, the budgie flew in, so Bob drove
him to work in Littleton and called me.

He sounds like a normal green and Bob says he's very friendly. He's eating seed
(had no interest in veggies, fruit, rice or 7-grain bread crumbs) and drinking
gatorade/water right now. I'm taking him to Dr. Kilgore's for a checkup this
afternoon. 

He's available in Leominster after that. (I can keep him temporarily, but am
overfilled!)

    Oranged Winged Amazon parot is up for adoption. Sampson is 13 years old
    talks very well,whistles,laughs,swears ect. He has recently plucked
    most of his feathers,for what reason I don't know. Would probably do

    you can have him no charge! I can even give you a small cage if you
    need one.

    I work from hime most of the time so my home number will get a faster
    response than the Dtn.
    
    I have a Westpoint parrot cage for sale.  It is 24 inches wide, 24
    inches deep and 59 inches high.  It's black in color.  Sold as a good
    cage for an Amazon, Grey or Umbrella Cockatoo or conure.  This cage
    does come apart of ease of transporting or shipping.  The cage comes
    with a playpen top tray if you want the bird out on top.  I have none
    of the perches or food dishes which came with the cage as my Umprella
    chewed them too badly.  But otherwise the cage is in good shape.  I
    paid $250 for it brand new.  Would like to get $100 for it.
    
    There is one thing I need to mention however.  I cannot sell the cage
    until the new custom cage for my Umbrella arrives here.  It should be
    here in about 2 weeks.  So, if interested, please contact me and I'll
    let you know at that time, if it's available to be taken.  I live in
