3226.0. "CAP does not report symbol names on Alpha/NT" by HYDRA::MODI () Mon Apr 21 1997 21:19

One of our software partner is trying to use CAP (NT Call Profiler) on
    his application's dll.

They claim that CAP does not report symbol names on Alpha/NT. It only
reports symbol addresses. On Intel/NT, it reports both symbol names and
    addresses.

They are using the same compiler/compiler flags on both Intel/NT and
    Alpha/NT.

Is this a known problem ? Or are they missing anything?

    Thanks in advance

Visual C++ for Alpha questions are best asked in DECWET::VISUAL.
I've forwarded your question to the developers so they'll see it
promptly and get back to you.

What are the respective versions of compiler/linker used
on both Intel and Alpha?

Has it worked before on Alpha or is this the first time they try it?

Could there be a difference in CAP versions for Intel and Alpha ?

What are the results of using the VC++ linking to dump symbols?

i.e. Link -dump -symbols foo.dll
or Link -dump -all bar.dll

on Intel and Alpha images ?
