3218.0. "How do you crash NT on purpose?" by METALX::SWANSON (Victim of Changes) Thu Apr 03 1997 18:17

    Hi,

I'm looking for a way to crash NT 4.0 at will. We need this for qual
testing so we can make sure a dump file gets created properly.

Does anybody know a way to do this? Preferably something that can
be done in C. An access violation isn't good enough, it has to
crash all the way down to the blue screen!

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi,

I just force a crash on my WNT V4.0 workstation box by going to a
DOS prompt and typing "kill winlogon".

    Hope this helps,
