3213.0. "Doing fast 2D on NT" by TAV02::GLASS (Yossi Glass, 882-3254) Wed Mar 26 1997 09:04

-- Cross posted in OPEN3D ----------

A customer wants to write an application on Windows NT that
will display 4000 5-pixel vectors, every 5 ms.

Questions:
- Which configuration will do that? PPRO 200 with a Matrox board?
A Miata with a 3D30? Which is the best?
- What are the possible way to write the software and achieve this kind
of performamance: using VC++ and MFS? Using GDI calls? Both?

Thanks,
Yossi.

The 3D30 is not yet supported on the Miata(it was going to be supported
    	but there were firwmare problems).

We've been doing some line performance analysis and there are some
performance bottlenecks w/ lines and the 3D30 that may be related
    to the software/hardware interface.

I'd be interested in knowing hwo the customer fairs with the
    	PPRO 200/Matrox configuration.

We are offering the customer an AS500/500 with 3D30. If they try it, we will
let you know what the perf is.

Thx,
Yossi.
