Sorry to hear about it Glenn, but I guess misery loves company! I, too,
have received the "tap." Our entire Digital Consulting unit has been
obliterated here in Huntsville. I'll miss all the folks that I've met
at Digital, without a doubt some of the best pure computer folks I've EVER
worked with. From a standpoint of intangibles, I'm going to miss the
overall Notes culture. It's provided me with a wealth of information that
would have taken weeks or months to gather. Sure, there's the Internews
groups, but that's really stretching it a bit.
Naturally, I wish things had worked out more agreeably. I hope for all
those left that the situations improve and that Digital once again takes
more of a leadership position in it's endeavors. As for me particularly,
I've got a lead on something that may materialize rapidly. It's down-side
is continued travel. I'm really hoping for something much more local,
as I've not been able to wrench anything significant in quite a while. My
kids had really forgotten me, but I've been home since I got the initial
indications that I was to be on the 6/27 list and my little one will talk
to me again. Maybe lightning will strike and a local job will open up...
Thanks for all the enjoyable discussions! Dave B, good luck with all those
Isettas!
