    This survey of SCCA racers was reposted with permission from the
    Internet "wheeltowheel" distribution.  Dave said he's interested in
    hearing from non-SCCA types as well, for background, but let him know
    the perspective from which you comment.  I expect the same would apply

Dear W-to-W member:
 
My name is Dave Gomberg.  I am a member of the Washington DC Region Board of
Directors and its liaison to our Competition Committee.  Although we are
a large region (about 1700-1800 members, of which perhaps a third participate
actively in our racing program) and have a very successful racing program, 
we are in a very high cost (of everything) area.  We have struggled lately
to continue to offer a high quality product while keeping costs to the
participants within reasonable bounds.  I have created a brief questionnaire
in order to get some idea of what is going on in club racing in other SCCA
regions, particularly in other divisions.  (I have a good idea of what goes on 
in NEDIV, but that doesn't mean I don't want to hear from you folks).  Those
of you who are NASCAR, IMSA, or kart folks are welcome to respond to those 
parts of the questionnaire that interest you, but let me know that you are not 
an SCCA type.  Please take a few minutes to answer and return the 
questionnaire.  When it appears that the deluge :) of mail has abated, I will
