HELP!! Hi-Speed Products KARTING EQUIPMENT STOLEN

I am posting this for a friend, Chuck West the owner of Hi-Speed Products in
Altamonte Springs, Florida. Many of you karters will know of Chuck. Hopefully
we can help him find his stolen equipment. If you see or hear about any of
this equipment, please give Chuck a call at HSP at (407) 831-1426 or send e-mail
to this account. Thank you.

"After returning from the Sebring race (May 25th), I did what I always do...
placed my trailer inside the 6' chain-link/barbed wire fence, under the outside
light, locked and left, locking the gate after us (the gate at HSP shops).
On labor day we discovered that we had been robbed. The thief had cut the
fence, rolled it back, parked his vehicle up to the fence, broke the lock on
trailer and proceeded to help himself to my kart, engines, tires, carbs, and
parts. He even took two pairs of driving shoes, an electric fan, and almost
took the starter, but forgot it next to the trailer and left my little red
wagon... he must have know I have had that wagon since I was born, in fact, Dad
bought it for me before I was born. What hurts more than anything else, is the
fact that this person seems to know all about karts, parts, and karting, I hate
to think a karter would do something like this. Hopefully it wasn't a karter,
just someone with karting knowledge, who will try to sell the kart and parts
or break it down and try to sell the parts separately. Keep your eyes and ears
open, if you hear anything please let me know. I am asking that all karters
help find the person or persons responsible for this theft. He knew what he
was doing, and took exactly what he wanted and/or needed. Don't let this
happen to you, let's catch this person and turn him in to the police".

Below is a list and description of some of the equipment which was stolen,
this is not a complete list, however most of what was stolen would be
identifiable through HSP markings. The HSP team color is a bright, vivid, and
very distinctive purple.

Kart is a "Trick" enduro chassis, with a HSP purple body. Main frame rails
are black and extended to accommodate a HSP tail section, i.e. rear rails
angle upwards to the rear. The left rear frame rail extension has been
rewelded (thick weld), left rear gas tank mount rod has also been rewelded.

Stop watch on the steering wheel is a Cronus LC-6J. Slippy pipe handle is
hand built. Aluminum handle with a piece of key stock cotter pinned to it.

Horstman axle clutch has 4 or 5 grooves cut into it which look like cooling
fins.

Left rear bearing hanger is a Horstman 1 1/4" cassette, right rear uses the
normal flangettes.

There are 6 aluminum locking collars on the 1 1/4" aluminum axle

Brakes are Enginetics front disc with HSP hand operated lever. Master
cylinder cap is engraved HSP. Enginetics standard rear brakes.

Kart is equipped with the new HSP servo controlled hi-speed needle adjuster
with the controls mounted on the steering wheel.

Dual Digatron DT-13A tach/temp gauge, a Digatron EGT/tach gauge is mounted on
the right fuel tank below a Speed-O speedometer.

Gas tanks - Left side is a Tod Spaude PVC tube tank and the right side is a
large "Trick" tank with aluminum tabs welded to the top inside.

Motor on the kart is marked HSP-2, HSP-2 above the exhaust, on both case
haves and on cylinder head and carb.
Other motors marked in the same places but marked HSP-C and HSP-D.

Brake and gas pedals are custom bent and mounted on the inside of the frame

Seat is an HSP enduro seat with head rest and long neck pad. The seat is cut
out to accommodate the right side frame rail and seat bracket.

Left rear tank bracket has a Motoplat coil mounted to it with a Horstman
Mova plug wire and a McCulloch plug boot.

Kart body has 2 NACA ducts on the motor side (left side).
