878.0. "HELP FOR LAST NAME OFFLEY" by ACE::OFFLEY () Tue Jun 01 1993 15:45

Help!!!! I am going on my maternity leave in four weeks and we don't
have names picked out yet. I think our last name is very difficult to
find something that sounds good. Your ideas would be helpful. We had
thought of Jacob or Sarah but I hate the idea that these are so
popular. Here are my guidelines. I don't like the sound of "y" names
with our last name Offley. I also don't want to use family names so
the following are out: James, Randall, Charles, Michael, William,
Ronald, Brian, Matthew, David, Alexander, Nicholas. For girls: Mary,
Cathy, Laura, Ann, Jessica, Eileen, and Jacqueline.

    I'm starting to panic!

    Mary,

I can't help much with a boys names. I had a hard time
picking out a boys name when I was due. Of course I had a
boy.....go figure. We named him Christopher and I'm very
    happy with our decision.

Anyway, the girls name I had picked if ours was a girl
was Samantha. I think it sounds nice with your
last name. Samantha Offley. I also like Jennifer with
    your last name.

Just a couple of suggestions. Good luck.

    A few names for you:

    Daniel Jacob
    Everett Jacob
    George Jacob

    Ellen Sarah
    Elaine Sarah
    Miriam Sarah

Since you did like Jacob and Sarah, I just used them with first names
that wouldn't be shorten to end with a "y".

    Best of luck,

    Chris
