978.0. "An "R" name for a girl" by NODEX::PINCK::GREEN (Long Live the Duck!!!) Wed Jan 25 1995 16:37

    Hi...

We found out that we are having a girl, so everything
has become much more real for us. Time to seriously
    start trying out names.

We are looking for a girls name that begins with
    the letter "R".

As our last name is Green, the name Rose (actually the name
of my Nan who we are naming after) is out... Rose Green would
    just not be fair. :-)

Rachel (a favorite name of mine) is also out as we have
    a niece with that name.

Instead of me listing what we have been thinking of, how
about I just wait and see if there are any suggestions.

The middle name will begin with "P" but I am not too worried
about how the whole name sounds together...

    Amy

P.S. I have an Aunt whose name is Rose Pinck (by marriage),
she never hears the end of the jokes :-)!

My daughter's middle name is Rene', which I love! Rachel is also
    pretty!

    I like Rebecca Green!

Actually, Rebekah (sp?) was high on the list...

Rebekah Paige sounds nice and it is actually
the english translation of the Hebrew name. My only
problem is whether it is to umm.... prissy (no
    insult intended) or not...

I have had bad experiences with a Renee' :-) and as
I said, Rose Green just doesn't seem fair! :-)

This is actually kind of fun!

    How about Robin...

       Robin Pagie...

    I think that sounds nice

I like Rebekah Paige, but do you like Becky?

We tried to pick names that couldn't be nicknamed very easily, because
we rarely found a name whose nickname we also liked.

    thanks for all the input...

I am not sure how or when we will decide, but I
    THINK it is between

Rebekah and Rachelle (the spelling of neither is
                           decided on either...)

Actually... my daughter's name is Rebekah Paige. I like you're
spelling. One of the previous replies has a good point though; we
didn't particulary want Becky as a nickname, so we started calling her
Bekah almost at birth. It's worked well so far!

I have to admit though, I almost exclusively call her Rebekah! =-)
978.8A couple other options...AMCUCS::MEHRINGFri Feb 17 1995 19:5118
Possibilities:

	Rikki
	Rosalyn
	Rita
Riva (well, maybe not with Green...)

I love Rachelle though!

For P names:

	Paulina
	Pamela
	Patricia
	Paula

Have fun!
