955.0. "Names to go w/Garven" by GAVEL::GARVEN () Wed Aug 03 1994 17:06

My husband (Rich) and I are having our first baby in November. We
were thinking of Meghan or Erin for girls names and Brendan or
Michael for boys names. But, with our last name of Garven, I
wondered if the "an/in" ending names sound too "rhymey." Comments?
        Other name suggestions?

        Thanks,

        Donna

    Hi Donna,
First, congratulations. Next, although I like your names, I also
agree with the ending problem. For other names, how about:

    Nicole Nicholas
    Amanda Everett
    Laurel Matthew
    Christa Patrick
    Barbara Christopher

    Best of luck to you.

    Chris
955.2To rhyme or not to rhyme...???????AMCUCS::MEHRINGMon Aug 08 1994 21:1923
Donna,

Congratulations! I tend to agree that the double "-in" sounds a bit rhyme-y,
but if you *love* a certain name, that can override this initial impression.
So, here are just some suggestions for you to consider:

	Lindsay Meghan Garven
	Molly Erin Garven
	Danielle Meghan Garven
	Jaime Erin Garven
	Alicia Meghan Garven

	Michael Brendan Garven
	Brady Richard Garven
	Daniel James Garven
	Mitchell Tyler Garven

Best of luck in the search,
-Cori

p.s. For what it's worth, I once knew a family that named their kids:
Colin, Shannon, Erin, and _?_-in(another boy-can't recall the first part) and
their last name was Henderson!!!!
955.3A few more suggestions...AMCUCS::MEHRINGWed Aug 10 1994 20:5424
Donna, I thought of a few more that sound good with Garven - somehow I like the
3-syllable girls's names (even if they end in "'in" ;-) :

	Jillian
	Hilary
	Alyssa
	Kylie
	McKenzie
	Jenna
	Elyse
	Samantha
	Whitney
	Angela
	Stephanie
	Hannah
	Kimberly

	Max
	Scott
	Patrick
	Spencer
	Timothy
	Dean
	Dennis

Thanks Chris and Cori. So many names to choose from, but there's still
time! I'm still kind of hooked on the Irish names.
